Format requirements

Topic Selection

At the time of abstract submission, the corresponding author must select the relevant topic for the abstract from the following options:

  • Clinical (Medical, Paramedical, Surgical, and Nursing)
  • Basic Science
  • Technology and innovation
  • Socio-medical
  • Health Education

This information will facilitate more accurate reviewer assignments and streamline the organization of topic-based presentations during the Congress.

Submission Format

The main body of the abstract (including Introduction, Objective, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions) must be entered into the “Abstract” field of the editorial manager, adhering to the 500-word maximum limit. This limit excludes author names, affiliations, and keywords. You may use copy and paste functions from your word processor. Special characters (e.g., non-Latin alphabets, mathematical symbols) are allowed without restriction.

You must also attach a text file containing the following information:

1. Information for all authors:
  • Full name (as it should appear in certificates and in the Congress Supplement)
  • Affiliation, including country (avoid abbreviations)
  • ORCID iD (optional but recommended, especially for indexing purposes in Investigación en Discapacidad Journal)
  • Email address
2. Abstract Content

The abstract should be clear, concise, and structured under the following headings:

  • Title (in Spanish and English)
  • Introduction
  • Objective
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Keywords: 3 to 5 (in Spanish and English)

If the abstract corresponds to a case report, it may be structured using fewer sections.

For logistical reasons, the submitting author will be considered the corresponding author for the submission process.

Important:

  • The abstract file must be submitted in a text format.
  • Abstracts may be written in either Spanish or English.
  • References are not accepted.
  • You may attach one supplementary material (a table, figure, or video) to be published exclusively online in the Investigación en Discapacidad Journal website.
  • Supplementary materials must be submitted as separate files, not embedded in the main text.
  • Tables must be in PDF format.
  • Figures must be in JPG or TIFF format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
  • Videos must not exceed 5 minutes in length or 35 MB in size.

Writing Recommendations

  • Use clear and accurate language, adhering to the grammatical and orthographic rules of the selected language.
  • Use the International System of Units (SI) for all measurements and abbreviations.

Abstracts Review

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a specialized scientific committee based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Relevance
  • Scientific and methodological foundations
  • Results
  • Clarity and organization of the manuscript

The acceptance of submissions will be determined by the Scientific Committee based on the evaluation results. Accepted abstracts may be assigned either an oral or a poster presentation format.

Specific guidelines for each presentation format will be published on the official Congress website ciir.inr.gob.mx.

A formal written Acknowledgment will be awarded to the most scientifically meritorious work in each of the Congress's thematic areas.

Publication in the Journal: Investigación en Discapacidad

Accepted abstracts will be published in a Supplement of Investigación en Discapacidad Journal (https://dsm.inr.gob.mx/indiscap/). We recommend authors review the journal's Copyright Policy prior to submission.
